Flairs are fun graphic buttons like those you'd pin on a shirt for a special event.  In digital scrapbooking, we use them on our pages either by themselves or in clusters with other elements from the same collection.  You might use a flair on the edge of a photo to "hold down" the photo.  My flairs are nice and large, just a bit under 2" across, but you can easily make them smaller while keeping the crisp resolution.
